The relay in your cooling system senses the coolant temperature and tells the radiator fan to turn on if the temperature is too high. As it is important for an engine to run hot, the fan should not be on all the time. A faulty relay may cause the fan to be on too much or too little. This affects the engines operating temperature and in turn the performance and fuel economy. If you suspect a faulty relay in your car, see here or speak to Ottocarparts.com's team for advice on a new relay.
